With Dida in goal during the seven games, the club didn't concede a single goal before Ji Sung Park and Philip Cocu scored for Eindhoven. 

Milan brushed aside Shakhtar Donetsk and Celtic in the group stage, before knocking out Manchester United in the round of 16 and fellow rivals Inter Milan in the quarter-finals. However, Liverpool beat the club in the final of the competition and recorded one of the game's greatest comebacks against AC Milan.
