Top 5 Left-Backs in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur v Leicester City - The Emirates FA Cup Third Round
Danny Rose of Tottenham Hotspur

The fullback slot has been difficult to fill for the top sides. Some players have been morphed into the left back slot and some sides have gone over scores of players trying to find the right fit. Some examples of this being Liverpool with James Milner last season and Manchester United more recently with Ashley Young, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian.

Some clubs have managed to sort out the position with some brilliant players. We will be taking a look at the top left sided fullbacks in the Premier League.

5. Danny Rose

Comfortably one of the best in his position in the league, the Englishman has grown from strength to strength. Rose provides great width and his crossing ability has steadily improved.

Although Mauricio Pochettino uses squad rotation well and given Spurs' depth in the Left Back role with Kieren Trippier and Ben Davies around, Rose had stood out as the best in the squad. His recent injury problems and links away from the club have dampened his chances a little but there is no doubting his immense ability.

He was valued at close to £40 million according to rumours in the transfer window.

Recent indications that a Spurs return was on the cards, despite his snarky comments on the club at the beginning, suggest how highly Spurs value him.
