Alisson Becker was signed by Liverpool in a bid to put an end to its goalkeeping woes. In recent history all of Liverpool's keepers have been average or a little above average. With Klopp reforming and restructuring this side he needed to strengthen every position and for that he needed a world class player between the sticks as well.

With the disastrous performance Karius put forward in the UCL final it was clear that Liverpool needed a world class goalkeeper to be reckoned as a force in Europe and that is when they resorted to secure the services of Alisson Becker from AS Roma for a staggering £56 million.

With Alisson being Liverpool's first choice this season Liverpool now have a world class squad which can compete for all the trophies. Despite the howler against Manchester United last week he has been important to Liverpool's success until now as they top the EPL table currently.

Alisson has successfully kept 10 clean sheets in 17 appearances in PL and conceded only 7 goals. He has even managed to get 2 clean sheets in the UCL as well and made a vital save against Napoli last week to ensure Liverpool a spot in the RO16 of the UCL.
