Since the PL era, the Merseyside clubs have been relatively quiet in terms of league trophy, as its been 30 years since one of the two clubs lifted England's top-flight trophy. The most heated football match in England, the Merseyside derby is a must watch.

Along with all the cards and fouls, a number of goals have been scored in these encounters and here we take a look at five of the all-time top goal scorers in the Merseyside derby.

An English striker who played for Liverpool player from the 1920s, Harry Chambers has 8 goals in Merseyside derbies to his name. The forward began his career in 1915 and spent 13 seasons at Liverpool, during which he racked up his goal tally against Everton.

Chambers made eight appearances for England netting 5 five in the process, between 1921-23, after World War I. In 1928, after a decade with Liverpool, Chambers opted to join West Bromwich Albion for a year before he stopped playing at the highest level.

The forward continued to play for lower division sides Oakengates Town and Hereford United after his exit from WBA. From 1929 to 1934, for another five years, the Englishman plied his trade scoring goals for smaller sides.

To put it into context, Chambers has scored more Merseyside derby goals than Liverpool greats like Kenny Dalglish, Robbie Fowler, Peter Beardsley and Micheal Owen.
