Torino striker Ciro Immobile set to join Borussia Dortmund
Torino striker Ciro Immobile is on the verge of a move to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund with a fee rumoured to be around €19.5 million, says Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The 24-year-old is currently co-owned by Serie A sides Granata and Juventus, and the transfer fee will be divided equally among the two. Immobile has reportedly agreed to a five year contract that will see him earn €2m per season.
He previously had a few loan spells and the most memorable one was when he scored a record 28 goals in serie B to help Pescera finish top and gain promotion.
Immobile who has ended his last season as the Capocannoniere of Serie A with 22 goals to his name, will be travelling to Germany to seal the move.
He will be replacing outgoing striker Robert Lewandowski who had agreed to a move to rivals Bayern Munich last season.
Serie A broadcaster and Guardian writer Paolo Bandini believes Dortmund got him for a bargain:
