Toronto's Gilberto fights with Jermain Defoe before firing in a 'supersonic free kick' in MLS
Get out of the way – Toronto’s Gilberto is fired up!
In a game between Toronto FC and New York Red Bulls, the Canadian team won a free kick a few yards from the edge of the box.
Gilberto, who hasn’t scored a goal in a very long time, stepped up to take the free kick, much to the dismay of Jermain Defoe. The ex-Tottenham Hotspur striker is seen arguing with his teammate before allowing him to take the free kick.
And what a hit! The ball went screaming past the wall and the outstretched hands of the goalkeeper to hit the back of the net in the very centre of the goal.
To his credit, Defoe was seen smiling and celebrating with Gilberto after the goal.
