Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City - Premier League
Just one more win is what City need to be crowned Champions

Manchester City put in an impressive display to put behind their recent shortcomings as they bounced back to beat Tottenham 3-1 in the Premier League.

Gabriel Jesus got City up and running in the 22nd minute to give his side an early lead.

The away team instantly doubled their lead when Raheem Sterling was brought down by Hugo Lloris for a penalty and the resulting spot-kick was converted by Ilkay Gundogan.

But Spurs pulled one back through Christian Eriksen as City went into the break leading 2-1.

Tottenham was the more aggressive team in the second half but failed to break down the Man City defence especially when they shifted to a back five.

Sterling scored his 17th league goal of the season to give Pep Guardiola's men a 3-1 win at Wembley.

Here are the player ratings:

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City - Premier League
Eriksen scored for the third consecutive time in the league

Hugo Lloris - 5/10

Lloris was on the receiving end of a harsh decision as his challenge on Sterling was marginally outside the box but instead, was given as a penalty.

The Frenchman made an excellent save of Jesus on his near post following a slight deflection of Davinson Sanchez but the rebound fell to Sterling for City's third goal.

Kieran Trippier - 5/10

The English full-back was average going forward and found it hard against Leroy Sane and Sterling on the left-hand side of the pitch.

Jan Vertonghen - 7/10

Vertonghen had a busy night but he lived up to the challenge he faced from the Manchester City by putting in multiple clean tackles as well as making recoveries.

Davinson Sánchez - 6/10

The 21-year-old had a busy night against the Manchester City attack but as always Sanchez was efficient alongside his partner Vertonghen making four clearances and three blocks.

Ben Davies - 6/10

Davies attempted eight crosses throughout the game but only one proved to be successful. However, tracking back, he put in a good shift making four tackles.

Mousa Dembélé - 6/10

Dembele completed 90% of his passes but none of them proved to be a difference maker as Spurs failed to create any good chances.

Eric Dier - 6/10

Dier put in a rock steady defensive performance winning four challenges and interceptions respectively and offensively, he completed six long balls.

Dele Alli - 6/10

Alli had a quiet game as he and his teammates found it hard to break down a strong Man City defence as he ended up having just two attempts at goal.

Erik Lamela - 5/10

The Argentinian received the nod ahead of Heung Min Son but he proved to be a let down having very little contribution proving zero crosses into the box and completing just 19 passes before being substituted in the 64th minute.

Christian Eriksen - 8/10

Eriksen scored a timely opening goal despite having a lucky bounce off Laporte's as his goal was crucial just before the break to lead the charge for a Spurs comeback.

He was by far the best player for his team as he created the majority of their chances.

Harry Kane - 4/10

Kane was instrumental in the build-up to Tottenham's first goal as he played the pass through to Eriksen.

Except for that, the Spurs talisman had a very quiet game failing to register a single shot on goal and was caught offside thrice.

Son Heung-Min - 5/10

Replaced Lamela in the 64th minute but could not repeat his previous super sub performances and was unable to be the deciding factor as Spurs looked to stage a comeback.
