Tottenham Hotspur 0-5 Liverpool: Key Stats and Player Ratings
Tottenham:
Hugo Lloris (-32): Brutally exposed by a defence that was led a merry dance by Suarez and co.
Kyle Walker (-22): Made five interceptions as Spurs saw their defence ripped to shreds.
Etienne Capoue (-30): Only made one tackle over the 90 minutes, and that didn’t come until the 86th minute.
Michael Dawson (-12): Failed to make a tackle and looked pedestrian, although he did make 8 clearances.
Kyle Naughton(-24): Had a pass rate of just 65% when withdrawn at half time.
Mousa Dembélé (13): Failed to make a tackle, but went past his man twice and was fouled three times before being substituted.
Sandro (1): Succumbed to injury early on, having made 7 of his 9 attempted passes.
Aaron Lennon (12): Completed 4 of his 5 attempted take-ons, but failed to produce the end product to back those up with only one cross finding a Spurs player.
Paulinho (-25): Let his side down by getting himself sent off whilst being their only central midfield player on the pitch. Wasn’t particularly good before his kung-fu challenge, misplacing seven of the 27 passes that he attempted
Nacer Chadli (-13): Put seven crosses into the box but found a Liverpool player with six of them.
Roberto Soldado (-3): Didn’t muster an attempt on goal all evening. Not even a speculative one into row Z.
Substitutes:
Lewis Holtby (-3): Only completed 67% of his passes and was walking a disciplinary tightrope following his yellow card.
Fryers (-1): A horrible game to make his debut in, Fryers made three tacklesand 73% of his passes.
Andros Townsend (3): Barely figured, only making five passes in his 30 minute appearance.
Liverpool:
Simon Mignolet (-7 ): Would not have expected such an easy afternoon. Mignolet had no shots on target to face, although he was fortunate that Roberto Soldado was adjudged to have fouled him when retrieving a Sakho backpass.
Glen Johnson (-3): Not tested defensively, but did give the ball away a fair bit when attempting long balls over the top
Martin Skrtel (16): Made 93% of his passes and contributed nine clearances.
Mamadou Sakho (29): Hit the woodwork early in the second half and only misplaced two passes all game – a 96% pass accuracy.
Jon Flanagan (27): Kept Lennon in his pocket and hit an absolute cracker to score his first Liverpool goal.
Lucas (3): Completed a very tidy 94% of his attempted passes (44 from 47.)
Joe Allen (38): Made seven tackles, more than any other player on the pitch.
Jordan Henderson (106): Bossed the midfield, making 58 passes and creating three chances in addition to his goal.
Raheem Sterling (51): Went past his man on three ocassions in a performance reminiscent of the barnstorming performances of his early Liverpool career.
Coutinho (9): One of the quieter of Liverpool’s attacking players, but still chipped in with three shots on goal.
Luis Suárez (127): Captain on the pitch and in millions of fantasy football teams, Suarez’s two goals came from seven attempts on goal, whilst two of his four key passes turned into assists.
Substitutes:
Luis Alberto (24): One of the easier appearances he’ll ever make, Luis Alberto came on with the game in the bag, and against a side without a central midfield player, to make 10 of his 11 attempted passes.
Victor Moses (2) : Came on with the game won, but threatened the Spurs goal with a great ball across the face of goal.
