Pep Guardiola's Manchester City lost against Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday. The 2-1 result in favor of the hosts sees the Spanish tactician suffer his first loss of the campaign.

Spurs opened the scoring in the 5th minute after Dejan Kulusevski found Timo Werner. The Swedish playmaker was at it again 20 minutes later when he set up Pape Matar Sarr in the 25th minute to double the lead. Matheus Nunes bagged a goal off Savinho's assist to half the deficit before halftime, but neither side scored after the break.
