Tottenham Hotspur will head into the new season with renewed zeal after having a successful 2015-16 Premier League campaign under Mauricio Pochettino. Tottenham enjoyed a hugely promising campaign which saw them qualify for the Champions League after finishing third. For the first time in years, all the three departments, attack, defence and midfield seemed to be firing simultaneously. Tottenham finished the season with the best offensive and joint best defensive record in the Premier League despite having a really young side.
The lack of experience and depth in the midfield department added to Mousa Dembele’s absence in the last few games due to suspension potentially cost Tottenham the title. Arsenal capitalised Tottenham’s downfall and leapfrogged them for the second spot on the last day of the season.
Tottenham will be taking part in the International Champions Cup in Australia as a part of pre-season preparation. The Lilywhites will face Spanish giants Atletico Madrid and Seria-A Champions Juventus.
Tottenham will face Juventus in the opening fixture of the friendly tournament on 26th of July, 2016. Mauricio Pochettino will have the opportunity to reunite with his former International teammate when Tottenham clash against Atletico Madrid on 29th of July, 2016.
