Regarding the issue of a possible exit from the Merseyside club, he said “I’m in a world-class team, an elite team like Liverpool. If another team comes around with more prospects of competing in international club competition games, which is willing to have me, they are welcome.”

He says that he is also disappointed with his on-field antics, which has “let him down at times during his career”, but he has made a conscious effort to change all that.
