Manchester City and FC Barcelona eyeing Julian Weigl

FC Barcelona are looking at Borussia Dortmund's Julian Weigl as a successor to Sergio Busquets. Weigl is one of the most highly rated players in his position and will command a huge transfer fee.

But AS reports that Barcelona are not the only club interested in the 22-year-old with former manager, Pep Guardiola also entering the race for Weigl. Manchester City are looking at Weigl as a long-term replacement for both Yaya Toure and Fernandinho with both the midfielders being out of contract next summer.

It will be a direct battle between City and Barcelona for Weigl who is set to command a transfer fee of around €70 million. He currently has a contract with Dortmund until 2021.

Bayern Munich enter Thomas Lemar race

Kicker has claimed that Bayern Munich are the latest club to take an interest in AS Monaco's Thomas Lemar. The Frenchman was a transfer target for both Arsenal and Liverpool last summer and are expected to resume the negotiations for Lemar in the next transfer window.

But they will now face stiff competition from the Bavarians who are looking to sign Lemar at around €90 million as a direct replacement for the ageing Franck Ribery.
