FC Barcelona eyeing defensive reinforcements worth €150 million
According to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona are looking to solidify their backline for the future by signing two highly rated teenage defenders. The youngsters which Barcelona are monitoring feature Matthijs de Ligt of Ajax and Dayot Upamecano of RB Leipzig. De Ligt is Ajax's youngest debutante since 1931 who also played in last season's Europa League final. Upamecano is another highly rated prospect from Germany who is has a release clause worth €100 million.
Ernesto Valverde has an ageing defensive setup at his disposal with the likes of Gerard Pique, Javier Mascherano and Thomas Vermaelen all being on the other side of 30. The boss believes that an injection of young blood in his back line is a must which is why Barcelona are ready to spend €150 on two 18-year-olds.
Real Madrid to renew shirt sponsorship deal
Though the talks were scheduled for next year, Real Madrid are set to renew their shirt sponsorship deal with the Fly Emirates a year earlier. Marca reports that the airline brand are willing to pay €70 million per year to the European champions for a deal until 2022. Real Madrid also want to renew their kit deal with Adidas and are demanding a contract worth €105 million; a deal as big as FC Barcelona's.
