Real Madrid need him!

What’s the story?

Harry Kane has hinted that he would be open to a move to Real Madrid in the future. The English striker was reported as a £177 million target for Los Blancos earlier this week and now he's responded to the rumour.

The striker, who's set to captain England vs Slovenia, was speaking to the media when he said: [Quote via Express]

“I would never say no. I think in football, you never know and you never rule out anything. It is not something that I definitely want to do but it could happen. You just never know. Like you said, at the moment, I am very happy where I am here – that is all that matters. We will see what happens, but for now that is all I am focusing on.”

Los Blancos are the only club outside of England to have kept tabs on him. Zidane is keen on adding a striker to his squad as Karim Benzema is the only experienced one at Bernabeu right now.

In case you didn’t know...

Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have a 'partnership agreement' and that has only benefited the Spanish side so far. The deal was signed when Luka Modric was moving to Bernabeu and then Gareth Bale followed him.

The signing of Bale enabled Tottenham's arch-rivals to Mesut Ozil from Madrid and that had not gone down well between the clubs.

The heart of the matter

Real Madrid are interested in signing Harry Kane according to recent reports. The striker has now added more fuel to this rumour by revealing that he is open to a move away from Tottenham.

Kane has been in red-hot form for Spurs for the last 2 and a half season and has finished with the golden boot for the last 2 seasons. He's been compared to Alan Shearer and is tipped to break the Newcastle United legend's Premier League goal-scoring record.

Author’s Take

Harry Kane one of the best strikers in the world right now and it's no surprise that Real Madrid want him. Zidane has been a big admirer of the striker and a move is definitely on the cards.

Kane has been winning individual honours at Tottenham and in the Premier League but is yet to win a competition. Spurs always end up on the losing side towards the end of the season or the competition.

They have finished 2nd and 3rd in the Premier League for the last 2 seasons and with other teams getting stronger, their chances of repeating this fest are fairly low. He can win several trophies at Bernabeu and with Modric and Bale doing the same since they moved there, it's just a matter of when and by how much.
