Transfer news and rumours of the day: 9th July, 2016
Welcome to our daily transfer rumours round-up. With already £300million spent by the Premier League first week of the summer transfer window has been nothing short of fascinating. Paul Pogba is still the centre of all media attention with BBC reporting that contrary to the £120million bid and personal agreement reached with Manchester United, this transfer is yet to get out of the blocks.
On that note, we take a look at all the best transfer news and rumours surrounding European Football on July 9.
Serie A
- Juventus will announce Mehdi Benatia’s signing from Bayern Munich in coming days. According to Gazzetta, Benatia will join the Serie A Champions in an €18m transfer and will sign a four-year contract worth €3m per season.
- Jackson Martinez could be heading back to Europe just five months after joining Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande in a €42m transfer. Player’s agent Henrique Pompeo spoke with Calciomercato and said: “For the moment we have not received any formal offer, but I am in Europe to work towards a return here”.
- Napoli are closing on a deal to sign Juventus man Roberto Pereyra, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The deal is expected to be in the region of €18m and Juventus are ready to accept the offer following Miralem Pjanic’s arrival in Turin.
