English Premier League
Liverpool close in on Thomas Lemar
The English Premier League giants have emerged as top contenders for Monaco's Thomas Lemar, who was initially linked with a move to Arsenal. Jurgen Klopp is believed to be keen on working with the winger and wants him at Anfield.
Reports in the Daily Mail claim that Liverpool officials have flown to Monaco to push through a deal worth £74 million for Lemar, which will also see Divock Origi travel the other way on a loan basis.
Manchester United make £97 million bid for Gareth Bale
Several reports emerging from Europe yesterday suggested that Manchester United were planning to make a bid of around £93 million for Real Madrid's Gareth Bale, in a last-ditch attempt to sign the winger.
However, The Daily Star have reported today that the bid has, in fact, arrived and reportedly stands at a slightly higher-than-predicted £97 million. Manchester United have tried to sign the Welshman in the past as well, but many believe that this is their best, and perhaps their last chance to sign the 28-year old.
Chelsea make astonishing last-minute move for Bayern Munich's Rafinha
The English Premier League champions face a tough task of defending their title and will hope to get as many additions as they can. With a little more than a day left, the Blues intend to make a number of signings while they still can.
According to the Metro, Antonio Conte's side have tabled an offer for Bayern Munich's right-back Rafinha. The 31-year old is deemed as surplus to requirements at the Bavarian club, prompting many to speculate that this deal could actually happen.
