£135 million superstar agrees to join Real Madrid, Barcelona to sell Coutinho to fund move for €180 million superstar and more: Transfer Roundup, 10 January 2019
Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's Daily Transfer Roundup. The January transfer window has been open for 10 days now and we have already seen a few high-profile moves happen.
Gone are the days when clubs used to shy away from spending too big in the winter transfer window so as to not disturb the harmony of the team. If last January's business is anything to go by, we should be expecting to see a host of high-profile switches happening before the end of the month.
Without further ado, let's take a look at the top transfer news, rumours and updates that made headlines on 10 January 2019
Aaron Ramsey agrees to join Juventus at the end of the season
Aaron Ramsey will move from Arsenal and join Juventus in the summer after agreeing to a deal worth £36 million, according to The Guardian. The midfielder had been heavily linked with top clubs in Europe due to his ongoing contract situation at Arsenal and now it looks like he will, in fact, make the switch after spending 10 years at Arsenal.
Ramsey was tipped to extend his contract. However, contract negotiations between the player and the club broke down. Arsenal had subsequently decided not to open negotiations once again.
Il Bianconeri will pay the Welshman £140,000 per week. He will thus become the second highest paid player on the Old Lady's roster after Cristiano Ronaldo. Juve's manager Max Allegri and Sporting Director Fabio Paratici are huge fans of the central midfielder. Ramsey is tipped to become part of a midfield 3 alongside Frenchman Blaise Matuidi and Miralem Pjanic.
Sami Khedira is expected to leave the club at the end of the season and thus Juventus see Ramsey as a worthwhile addition to their squad. He will displace one of Bentancur, Sami Khedira or Emre Can in midfield.
After joining from Cardiff in 2004 for £4.8 million, Aaron Ramsey has played 252 top-flight games for Arsenal and has scored 52 goals. He has also won 3 FA Cups with the Gunners.
