As per Germany’s Sport Bild, Manchester United and Chelsea are keeping a track on the highly-rated starlet and could make a move to sign him in January. Manchester City are also said to be interested in the youngster.
The teenager, himself, has revealed to Sport Bild that English clubs’ interest in him began after an impressive showing in a game in England. “England clubs were interested after a national match in England in September 2015 with the German U-19 in England,” said the German youngster to Sport Bild.
The versatile footballer can play in either full-back positions and can also play further up the field in attacking positions in central midfield and the wings. In last year’s U-19 team, Henrichs played in as many as 8 positions, as per Outside of the Boot. The attacking full-back has progressed quickly and has already made 14 appearances in the Leverkusen first-team, and chipping in with 2 assists to his name.
Henrichs’ excellent performances have been rewarded with a starting berth in manager Roger Schmidt’s first-team.
If he does leave Leverkusen in January or the summer, he won’t be going on the cheap as he’s tied down to the club till 2020 and Bayern will fight tooth and nail to keep the promising youngster or attach a hefty price tag on him.
