Transfer Rumour - Chelsea ready for wholesale changes
Sports Direct News claim that Jose Mourinho is contemplating wholesale changes to the Chelsea squad come January.
There are claims that after a shaky start to his second stint at Stamford Bridge, the Special One has earmarked moves to sell a trio of underperforming stars to make way for “world class” talents.
After reportedly rejecting a £35 million bid from Barcelona for David Luiz in the summer window, it seems Jose has finally run out of patience and is willing to listen to offers for the flamboyant Brazilian defender. Barcelona and Bayern are rumoured to be monitoring the situation closely.
The 26 year old is most likely to be joined by Chelsea outcast Kevin De Bruyne who hasn’t been able to seize the little opportunities he has been given to impress. De Bruyne, however, is most likely to be loaned out rather than being sold, according to reports in the Belgian newspaper HLN. Anderlecht being the most likely suitors.
Another player having his fair share of speculations is Demba Ba. The Senegal international has fallen down the pecking order and is reported to be targeted by League leaders Arsenal. Reports suggest that the Gooners are willing to make a £15 million bid in the January Transfer Window. With Jose Mourinho keen to add metal to his strike department, Demba Ba is likely to be sacrificed.
With so many players being linked to Chelsea lately, it is rumoured that Nemanja Matic is going to be a likely replacement for Luiz. The 25 year old former Blues man is reportedly set to make a comeback to the London outfit which he left in 2010 on loan and in 2011 permanently to Benfica. Among the strikers, an array of world class talent is linked to Chelsea with Suarez, Lewandowski, Yilmaz and Cavani.
Chelsea follow a revolving door policy for the managers and history suggests Roman Abramovich isn’t very patient and wants immediate returns. If Mourinho wants to stay at Stamford Bridge he knows he needs to change things around quickly for even the Special One isn’t special enough for the Russian owner if he doesn’t produce quick results.
