Transfer Rumour: Marco Verratti's agent hints at move away from PSG; Manchester United and Chelsea interested
Marco Verratti’s agent has said that the Italian midfielder might leave Paris Saint-Germain if the French media carry on scrutinising him. The 23-year-old was hit by injuries last campaign and still hasn’t rediscovered his form.
Verratti has been heavily criticised for his performances by the French press and the midfielder was unhappy with him being substituted in PSG’s 0-0 draw against Marseille last week.

Verratti’s agent, Donato Di Campli, has stated that the 23-year-old deserves more respect from the French media. “Verratti wants to win with PSG,” Di Campli said. ”However, if these attacks against him from the French Press continue, Marco and I will make our evaluations and he could leave Paris.”
Reports claim that Verratti had a heated up conversation with his manager, Unai Emery and the Italian is concerned over his game time as he was taken off after 60 minutes in PSG’s 1-0 away win at Lille.
Italian website, Calciomercato reported that Verratti was also photographed smoking by Brazilian defender Marquinhos’s wife, which jeopardises his relationship with the club even more.
Some of the big names in Europe are monitoring the situation and Verratti will have plenty of offers to choose from if he decides to leave Parc des Princes. Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus and Inter Milan are all keen on securing his services.
Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte and Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho are known admirers of the midfielder. With the future of Cesc Fabregas at Chelsea under serious doubt, The Blues would want to bring the Italian to Stamford Bridge.
Verratti happy at PSG
In spite of all the reports in the media, Verratti has said that he is happy with his club. “I do not want to begin negotiations with another club,” he said. “I learned of Real Madrid’s interest (in the past) and that was pleasing because it does not happen every day that Real Madrid ask after you. However, when I am happy at a side, I do not want to change. I want to win something with this shirt.”
PSG manager Unai Emery has also said that Verratti is part of his plans. “I’m happy with Marco,” said Emery. “His qualities are important for the team. He is better physically than a month ago. He started later this summer. I think it’s a good time to improve, to give him more time in the next matches.”
Verratti, who joined PSG in 2012 from Pescara, has won four league titles with the club. PSG are currently third in the Ligue 1 table, 3 points adrift of league leaders, OGC Nice.
