I-League 2nd Division 2018 : TRAU rout Mohammedan, Kerala edge past Madhya Bharat, Fateh Hyderabad hold Ozone FC

Mohammedan SC faced a disappointing loss

A mid-week triple header seven saw goals being scored in the I-League 2nd Division on Thursday. Sportskeeda has a look at all the three games in brief.

MATCH 1: TRAU 4-1 Mohammedan SC

After a 1-0 win over Northeastern rivals Langsning FC in Shillong, Tiddim Road Athletic Union continued their winning form against Kolkata Giants Mohammedan SC at the Khuman Lampak Stadium, Imphal with a 4-1 win.

Mohammedan SC came into this game with two wins in their two games and were expected to give TRAU a tough time, but the Black Panthers were no match for the Imphal based side.

Malemnganba Meitei Kshetrimayum put TRAU ahead in the 25th minute. Dipendu Dowary was struggling in the first half and Debasis Pradhan replaced him for the Black Panthers.

Malemnganba Meitei Kshetrimayum doubled his tally and scored again on the cusp of halftime. TRAU went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Fikru Teferra scored his first goal in the 2nd Division to reduce the deficit to one.

Ngangbam Naocha made it 3-1 in the 81st minute. Princewill Emeka scored the fourth for the Imphal based side to put the game to bed.

TRAU will now face Chennaiyin FC Reserves on 12th April at the SSN College Ground, Chennai while Mohammedan SC will face Langsning FC on 9th April at the Barasat Stadium, Kolkata.

Match 2: Madhya Bharat SC 0-2 FC Kerala

Madhya Bharat continued to suffer losses as they fell to a 0-2 loss to FC Kerala in their fourth league match at the JLU Ground, Bhopal. They have lost all four in their journey so far. On the flip side, FC Kerala have romped up the third win of their campaign out of their four games so far.

Sreyas VG scored in the 24th minute to put the Thrissur based side ahead. FC Kerala kept on pressing high for their second goal but the Central Indian side somehow held them to a slender 1-0 lead the break.

Sreyas VG scored early in the second half at the 57th-minute mark to make it 2-0 for the Southerners. It was Kerala all the way in the remaining period of the second half as Madhya Bharat SC could not manage to eke out a single positive move in the game.

Madhya Bharat would look to register their first win this season when they face Ozone FC at the same venue on 11th April while FC Kerala face local rivals Kerala Blasters reserves in a Kerala Derby on 12th April at the Corporation Stadium, Thrissur.

Match 3: Fateh Hyderabad 0-0 Ozone FC Bengaluru

Fateh Hyderabad were held to their first draw of this season by Ozone FC in the Anantapur RDT Stadium.

The game was largely a cagey affair. With both sides involved in tense midfield battles throughout the course of the game.

Both the teams got ample amount of chances to put themselves ahead, only for being squandered away by the forwards.

The game ended goalless as neither of the teams were able to break the deadlock.

Fateh Hyderabad next face struggling Madhya Bharat on 16th April at the JLU Ground, Bhopal while Ozone FC Bengaluru will face the same Central Indian side on 11th April in Bhopal as well.
