Manchester United continued with their resurgence by recording a hard-fought 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur. The Red Devils went into the game having won each of their last five games in all competitions under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and that good fortune continued at Wembley on Sunday.

A breath-taking goal from Marcus Rashford was enough to see the Reds go home with the three points. As well as the goal was taken, the provider was equally impressive with Paul Pogba’s brilliant assist finding the England striker.

Tottenham started the game on the ascendency but were kept at bay by some resolute defending from the away side. Despite dominating much of the first half, Mauricio Pochettino’s side could not muster a single shot on target.

Spurs’ ineffectiveness upfront soon cost them as Rashford raced through on goal to put United ahead in the dying embers of the game. The second half was, however, a totally different proposition as Tottenham turned on the heat.

The win means Man United has now moved level on points with Arsenal, although a lower goal difference means the Reds still remain 6th on the Premier League table. Solskjaer’s men are also six points below Chelsea who occupy the last Champions League spot in 4th position.

Spurs, on the other hand, remain 3rd but are now a whopping nine points behind league leaders Liverpool. In light of the result, many football fans have taken to Twitter to pour out their opinions and trolls.
