Arsenal have now lost three games successively on the trot. The recent side to crush their top four hopes was Leicester City. The Gunners lost 3-0 to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. This loss makes it 3 losses for Arsenal in a span of just 7 days.

Arsenal started the week with a loss to Crystal Palace where they lost a thrilling contest which ended up as 3-2. Hoping for a redemption, the Gunners visited Molineux Stadium where they were hosted by Wolves but their fortunes saw no change as they lost 3-1 there as well. The loss against Leicester City today has dented the hopes of a top four finish and Champions League football next week.

The result was not something Unai Emery was hoping for but Jamie Vardy's pair of goals and Yoeri Tielemans' header left the Gunners still unmoved from the fifth as they just sit two point adrift of the top four.

The Spaniard responded to the loss against Foxes by saying:

“We are going to think about Valencia in the Europa League. We have a big ambition in this competition. It’s a semi-final and it’s going to be difficult also. Then we play on Sunday against Brighton, and we need to win this match."
“At the beginning of the season we knew it was going to be very difficult, and today it’s the same. Our confidence can go up, can go down. But the most important is to be clear in our minds and our way. Our way is to think of this semi-final and prepare for the match in the best possible way.”

The Arsenal boss conceded that the red card to Ainsley Maitland-Niles turned the tide against his team and that the top four finish seems quite difficult but his team will do everything in its power to finish the season on a high.

Unai Emery indicated that the Europa League may be key to the Champions League qualification next season and would like to shift his focus more towards that competition.
