One by one, everyone bites the dust. It is not that Ricardo Kaka has bitten it since he is a winner, but no-one wins against time. Time is the eternal mother with unending tentacles that grasps everyone and consumes them within it.

No-one can escape it. Not even a champion like Kaka.

In what seems like aeons ago, Kaka was the last player to win the Ballon d'Or before Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi happened. He was brilliant, a poet working at a speed of light, an architect that could design the craftiest moves with his feet.

However, the burst of pace that made him the player that he was soon left him after he joined Real Madrid. Injuries and poor decision-making from the Brazilian led to the premature demise of his career, but the fans can never forget the joy that he gave to them--after all, we never forget how one makes us feel.

As a result, here is how Twitter reacted when the legendary Brazilian announced his retirement...

So, there you have it. It doesn't matter if a player was good or bad, what does matter is how many people loved him/her. If one took a glance on Twitter, she/he wouldn't find a single derogatory tweet on the Brazilian-- such was his influence all over the world.

His charming personality and sweetheart nature made him a fan-favourite in the football fraternity--and we can see that in the reverence of the fans.

Good luck, Kaka! May you have a happy retired life!
