Twitter reacts after Arsenal thrash Everton 5-2 to send Toffees into the relegation zone
A Super Sunday clash at Goodison Park lived up to its expectations for the visitors as Arsenal came away victorious with a resounding 5-2 win over Everton. In spite of going a goal down when Wayne Rooney opened the scoring, the resilient Gunners fought back.
Goals from Nacho Monreal, Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Aaron Ramsey gave Arsene Wenger's side the advantage before Oumar Niasse scored a consolation goal. But Alexis Sanchez then stepped up in the final minute to make it 5-2 and three points for the north London side.
Here's how Twitter reacted to the game.
Alexis Sanchez was brought down in the box by Jordan Pickford but surprisingly nobody made any noise about it.
Of course, Arsenal then capitulated in the most Arsenal fashion - dominating the game before conceding via Wayne Rooney.
But Nacho Monreal soon equalised while Mesut Ozil also took control of the game.
As if a dominant midfield performance wasn't enough, Wenger then brought Jack Wilshere on - his first Premier League appearance for Arsenal in ages!
Naturally, the crowd at Goodison Park were very unhappy with the result. Everton, who spent millions in the summer transfer window, are now 18th in the table.
