Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar Jr has become Brazil's all-time leading scorer in the UEFA Champions League following his crucial winning goal against Liverpool on Wednesday.

The Ligue 1 giants hosted the Premier League outfit in a crucial Champions League clash at the Parc des Princes, in a game that would've seen the French club out of Europe's top competition if they had earned anything less than a point.

Juan Bernat and Neymar resurrected their side's chances in the competition by netting goals in the 13th and 37th minute of the game respectively.

The Brazilian superstar's rebound shot marked his 31st strike in the Champions League, thereby surpassing Kaka's record as Brazil's all-time leading scorer in the competition.

Former Real Madrid star Kaka previously held the record with 30 goals scored for the Los Blancos side and AC Milan.

The goal also marks Neymar's 10th goal for PSG in the UEFA Champions League.

Neymar also made the headlines for his usual antics on the pitch with Klopp fuming (via The Guardian): "There are a lot of things you can do when you’re a referee. For instance, you can give yellow cards for almost everything. But how about when you go down, you act like you are about to die and then the next moment you get up? It's unsportsmanlike behaviour. In the end, it's hectic and then everyone is going down. I don't want to say Paris didn't deserve and I don't expect help from a ref, I just expect him to know better. It doesn't happen that often, to be honest, but it happened tonight."

"Two times in a row we won the fair play award in England and tonight PSG made us look like butchers. It was clever of PSG, especially Neymar and that made us lose our composure."

Kaka is followed by former Barcelona legend Rivaldo with 27 goals, former Galatasaray striker Mario Jardel and Bayern Munich and Lyon ace Giovane Elber with 25 goals each.
