Twitter reacts to Europa League draw as Liverpool draw Manchester United

The Europa League pre-quarterfinal draw has some blockbuster fixtures

The Round-of-16 draw of the UEFA Europa League took place earlier today, giving us some very enticing fixtures to look forward too. Foremost amongst them was the draw between Liverpool and Manchester United, as the Premier League heavyweights will clash together for the first time in Europe.

Predictably, Twitter went wild as fans, players and TV pundits reacted to the blockbuster draw. Here are a few of the tweets:

The personnel involved in the fixture themselves are very excited, as Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool charges tweeted their excitement.

As for Manchester United, David De Gea and youngster Nick Powell both recognize the magnitude of the game, tweeting:

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler will clearly be glued to the TV screens when this match comes around, although he might enjoy the other games as well. Jamie Carragher, for his part, trolled Louis van Gaal with his tweet about the draw. Meanwhile, Gary Lineker was typically left-field as he tweeted his take on the draw.

Naturally, even neutrals are excited to see the first ever Liverpool – United derby clash in Europe.

The TV coverage of the game should be something to look forward too, although host Jake Humphrey considers this to be his biggest event of his career.

Of course, the tweet of the night comes from @sidin, who had this to say about the clash between Jurgen Klopp and Louis van Gaal

Given that United had shut part of their ground in the game against FC Midtjylland, surely that won’t be the case against Liverpool.
