Twitter reacts after Arsenal's Olivier Giroud scores another Goal of the Year contender
He's only gone and done it again! Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is one of three contenders for the 2017 Puskas Award for Goal of the Year after his sensational Scorpion-Kick goal on the first day of the year but he clearly feels he can do one better.
In Arsenal's Europa League encounter away at Red Star Belgrade, the score read 0-0 until Giroud scored the opening goal in the 85th minute which eventually turned out to be the match winner.
In a move involving Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere, a series of one-touch passes culminated in Wilshere finding Walcott who headed the ball to Giroud before the Frenchman fell backward to score a bicycle-kick goal into the top corner.
It was four years to the day when Wilshere scored a similar Wengerball goal from Giroud's assist and it reminded fans that there indeed was some beautiful football left in this Gunners squad.
Here's how Twitter reacted to the goal.
