Video: Brazil prepare for Uruguay clash
Brazil trained and spoke on Tuesday (June 25th) ahead of their 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup semi-final against Uruguay.
Brazil face Uruguay in the semi-final of the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in the first meeting between the two sides since 2009.
And the winner of the clash will face the side that progresses through Thursday’s second semi-final, between Spain and Italy.
Brazil boss Phil Scolari highlighted Uruguay’s experienced squad –
Luis Felipe Scolari, Brazil coach:
“They’re going to play, I guess, with a consolidated squad. I would say that 90 per cent of the squad has been playing together since the World Cup in 2010. So they’re playing together since 2010 and they’re a talented side. We are analyzing this and working with our players.”
The most famous meeting between the sides came in the 1950 World Cup final when Uruguay shocked hosts Brazil 2-1 at the Maracana Stadium in Rio. It is a result that, despite the passage of time that has passed, still resonates in Brazil to this very day.
