Video: Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford scores for Middlesbrough against Wigan
Chelsea’s on-loan striker Patrick Bamford scored the equalizing goal against Wigan Athletic in a Sky Bet Championship encounter for Middlesbrough that prevented Malky Mackay from leading Wigan to a victory in his first match in charge of the team.
The 21-year-old had joined Chelsea from Nottingham Forest back in 2012 and since has been loaned to MK Dons and Derby County as well.
Wigan had found the lead through Shaun Maloney when he slotted in the ball home from a brilliant free-kick, but Bamford, who had come on as a substitute almost an hour into the game, found an equaliser for his side with a finish into the far corner.
