Video: Gonzalo Higuain unveiled by Napoli

Despite a record boasting 121 goals in 264 appearances for Real Madrid, Gonzalo Higuain never really settled in the Spanish capital.

Gonzalo Higuain said: “Well, without going too far, only a few years ago Napoli played against Chelsea in the quarter finals, and almost made it to the semi finals. I always thought Napoli was a team to take into consideration. Here they always did good things since Maradona arrived. I am very happy and it did not take me long to decide, because I knew what kind of team I was joining, I was aware of their project, and I was convinced really quickly”.

“Everybody knows what Cavani represented for the team, and they have put this confidence in me now, and hopefully I will be able to pay them back on the pitch, leading Napoli to important results, and we all hope everything will be good. This team has ambitions, as I said they have big plans here, and I hope it will go in the best possible way.”

“Last year Napoli had a great season, and this year we will try to go as far as we can, and why shouldn’t we dream about the title? The chairman put his trust in the squad, both the new and the ones who are already here, and I believe that this year we can aim for the title, which this city has been missing for a long time, and finally give this joy to all the people here.”
