Video: John Terry marks Gary Cahill by mistake to allow PSG's second goal

John Terry seems to be blocking Gary Cahill during the goal

Thiago Silva leapt above the Chelsea defence to score a looping header over Thibaut Courtois to equalize for the second time against the Blues in last night’s Champions League round-of-16 second leg tie at Stamford Bridge. The goal will be perhaps remembered as the goal which knocked out Jose Mourinho’s side from this year’s UEFA Champions League.

The goal came off a corner and the debate whether it was Thiago Silva’s grit and determination to win the header or Chelsea’s poor defending which eventually led to the goal, will go on.

However, evidence seems to point to the latter with Chelsea’s central defenders John Terry and Gary Cahill seemingly marking each other during the corner. Terry, who was probably tasked to pick up Silva realized his mistake and tried to make a late recovery. But the Chelsea captain was too late. Silva had already managed to gain enough elevation to get a header on goal.
