Video: Jose Callejon misses open goal from one yard out
We have a new ‘Miss of the Season’ contender, this time from Napoli striker Jose Callejon in the Serie A.
If we told you that he has already scored seven goals this season, you wouldn’t believe us after watching this miss against Atalanta.
When Callejon had a chance to win the game for Napoli with the score tied at 1-1, he received a low cross at the far post that beat the defence and the goalkeeper.
But instead of simply tapping it in, the Spanish forward lofted it over the crossbar, missing the goal by a mile.
Even the defenders were already claiming offside before they realized that he had actually missed!
