Andrea Pirlo celebrates after scoring the opener against Torino

Andrea Pirlo’s reputation as the best free-kick taker in the world at the moment keeps growing as he successfully sent the ball past the Torino keeper during Juventus’ Serie A tie at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino.  The Italian midfielder continued his great run with free-kicks as he scored the first goal of the match in the 35th minute.

This was Pirlo’s 11th goal from a direct free-kick, the highest in Europe. He is followed by Cristiano Ronaldo and Hakan Çalhano?lu with each of them heaving converted eight successful free-kicks in the past four seasons.

Pirlo has converted almost 50 free-kicks during his illustrious career, and was recently chosen as the best free kicker taker in the world right now in Sportskeeda’s list.
