MS Dhoni has been an inspirational captain for India over the last few years. But he also loves football and is a big fan of English Premier League club Manchester United. The Indian captain is set to lead his side for the World T20’s which start tomorrow but he took time out to express his joy over the deal that has been agreed between Manchester United and Gulf Oil International

Gulf has become the first ever Oil and lubricant company to have a partnership with Manchester United. The company owned by Hinduja group signed a three-year deal with the club to help engage the large United fan base in Asia, specifically in China, India and the Middle East.

The deal was signed by the vice president of Gulf Oil International and United’s commercial director Mr. Jamie Reigle who is the commercial director of the club in front of the club;s first team players at their training ground.

Dhoni is a brand ambassador for the Gulf and was very pleased with the deal which brought his favorite club together with the company he represents. The right-hander had even previously visited Old Trafford and is a keen follower of the Premier League.

Dhoni was named as the official ambassador for the Premier League for their telecast on Star Sports back in 2013. In an interview he said, “I am an avid EPL fan and I just played out a real situation in front of the camera, If I am not busy with cricket, I am always busy with EPL during weekends. Football is extremely exciting and very close to my heart. I was a goalkeeper during my school days. Even today, I play football as a warm-up game ahead of key cricket matches”

After the deal was announced he uploaded this video on facebook welcoming his ‘first love’ Manchester United to the Gulf family.

Super happy to say Gulf unites me with my first love. Happy 2 welcome my favourite club Manchester United to the Cruise Station family! #UnitedForGulf
