Video: Mourinho cautious ahead of Villa clash
Jose Mourinho looks ahead to the visit of Aston Villa to Chelsea and reiterates his plans to bring one more player to Stamford Bridge.
Jose Mourinho (Q: Were you surprised to see Aston Villa beat Arsenal on the opening day of the season?)
“Surprised yes because we always expect the big teams and the contenders to the title to win their matches but we know that we cannot win all the time and we have to lose sometimes and lose points and it happened to Arsenal this match. Probably in the second (round of) fixtures there will be another contender to the title to lose points and I think that’s the beauty of this league and that’s the beauty of football but at the same time, it as not such a big surprise because Aston Villa can do that to any one of us.”
Jose Mourinho (Q: What do you feel about the transfer window going on to long?)
“At a certain point, I agree with what (Alan) Pardew was saying yesterday, that the transfer window goes too far. The transfer window goes until the third or fourth fixture of the season which I also agree is too much. But at the same time, give everybody the chance to be in the market while you are winning or losing points and we will be (in the market) until the last day. We didn’t spend (so far) We trust a lot in what we did and we trust a lot in our project.”
