Video: Neuer looks ahead to Schalke clash
Bayern Munich players Manuel Neuer and Jerome Boateng spoke to the media on Friday (September 20th) ahead of the German Bundesliga clash with Schalke.
Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich goalkeeper, said: “We are not impressed by Borussia Dortmund‘s start to the season. I believe we have only had a minor problems in our games, considering our 1-1 draw at Freiburg. At this point, league standings don’t matter that much, it’s not as though we are getting nervous about it. We have to win our games. Now we have a game against Schalke, and we want to play a good game and get the three points.
“We haven’t discussed tactics ahead of the Schalke game yet, but we will do so after training, or maybe in the hotel. We know that they play a flexible attacking game, with the likes of Jefferson Farfan, Julian Draxler and Kevin-Prince Boateng. They have dangerous individual players, capable of scoring at any time. Because of this, we need to be solid in defence. We also know that their defenders haven’t been playing well lately, and we’d like to take advantage of that.”
