Video: No Goal Line Technology in Champions League, linesman denies CSKA Moscow a goal

Did CSKA Moscow deserve a goal?

AS Roma beat CSKA Moscow 5-1 with Gervinho, Iturbe, Maicon and an own goal heaping misery on the Russian team. Only Musa could score a consolation goal for Moscow.

Or did they manage to score one more which wasn’t given?

When looking at a replay of this shot from Georgi Milanov, it looks like the ball did cross the line. Yet, the goal wasn’t awarded.

As we can see, the assistant referee near the box is right on the line but does not react in spite of the ball landing behind the goal line.

There is no Goal Line Technology (GLT) in the Champions League, so this begs the question – should UEFA adopt GLT to ensure a fair result?
