Video: Orlando City's Kaka denies New York City FC a win with a late freekick

Kaka #10 of Orlando City SC celebrates after he scores the first goal in team history from a free-kick against New York City FC at the Orlando Citrus Bowl

Former AC Milan and Real Madrid star Kaka opened his scoring tally in the Major League Soccer in the grandest way possible as he scored the late equaliser for his side with a free-kick.

With Aurelien Collin sent off and Orlando City trailing a goal behind following a goal from Mix Diskerud who was assisted by former Barcelona star David Villa, it was the former Ballon d"Or winner who stepped up to take the free-kick when it was awarded to Orlando City after Kevin Molino was brought down just outside the box.

Like there were not enough reasons to adore Kaka, the legendary Brazilian midfielder was successful in putting the ball into the net past keeper Josh Saunders with a huge deflection of the New York City wall – scoring the much needed equaliser in his very first match, sending the crowd of 62,510 spectators wild.

Speaking to ESPN later, Kaka said, "It was very difficult because we were losing the game but I scored and we got the draw.”

“So there is a lot of emotion as it is the first goal for Orlando City in this league and I am so happy with that. We have a lot to improve on but it was good work. The atmosphere was amazing so thank you for the support.  This crowd were supporting us all the time. Thank you, Orlando,” he added.
