Video: Steward stops Liverpool pitch invader with insane 'Rock Bottom' move

A match steward wrestles a pitch invader to the ground at St Mary’s

Liverpool continued their surge up the table with a 2-0 win over Southampton away at St. Mary’s but it wasn’t the best day for a certain Liverpool fan who tried to celebrate the goal with the players. While he may have been happy with three points, he made the highlights for being brought to the ground by a match steward with what can only be described as a ‘Rock Bottom’ from the WWE.

After Raheem Sterling scored in the 73d minute to double the Reds’ lead, the players went towards where the traveling fans sat to celebrate the goal. While a bunch of stewards kept the jubilant fans at bay, this supporter made his way down to the fence, found a gap and leaped over to celebrate on the pitch.

But before he could get anywhere near the players, an alert steward was on hand to grab him and prevent him from getting any closer. When the delirious fan di not relent, the steward had no choice but to grab him, lift him and then send him crashing to the ground before he got some help from the other stewards to restrain him.

To the dismay of the fans, the referee did not disqualify the other stewards for interfering.
