Video: Steven Gerrard humourously advises against kid's dream of joining Leicester City
It may have been over a year since Steven Gerrard swapped Liverpool for the shores of Los Angeles in America, but it is apparent that his heart still beats for Merseyside.
In a light-hearted video for his club Los Angeles Galaxy’s official YouTube channel where he gives a lift to a young American fan in his car, Gerrard can be seen urging him to choose Liverpool, or even Barcelona or Real Madrid over ‘c**p’ Leicester City.
In the fun interview, Stevie G asks the little boy if he wants to be a ‘soccer’ player when he’s older (yes he used the word ‘soccer’), he replies in the affirmative but then says that he would probably leave LA Galaxy to go play for Leicester City. A flabbergasted Gerrard then exclaims “Leicester?!”, before going on to give the young fan the rosier alternatives of Liverpool, Barcelona or Real Madrid.
The expression on his face as he says “Don’t go to Leicester, they’re c**p!” is not one to be missed.

Among the other topics touched upon in the video, Gerrard also admits that he doesn’t miss the Liverpool weather one bit, but that he does miss his family and friends back home.
With him being out of contract with LA Galaxy later this year and rumours of there being an offer of a coaching role under Jurgen Klopp next season, Gerrard may at least not have to wait too long to be with his near and dear ones.

In 2016, Gerrard has 11 assists and 3 goals for Galaxy, and would be hoping to clinch the MLS Cup this year after an unsuccessful first season with the club. Galaxy currently sit in third position in the Western Conference, with 10 wins, 14 draws and 4 losses after 28 matches played.
They would be hoping to qualify for the 12 team MLS Cup playoff soon after the regular season ends.
The former England captain is currently out injured after he sustained a hamstring injury in Galaxy’s game against Vancouver Whitecaps.
Gerrard’s injury and the injuries of Jelle Van Damme and Gyasi Zardes prompted LA Galaxy and USA legend Landon Donovan to announce a come back to the Galaxy team for this season. Donovan retired in 2014 after playing for 9 years for his hometown club and multiple loans to clubs in Europe.
