Video: Top 10 Bundesliga moments between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund

The giants of German football, Bayern Munich & Borussia Dortmund, clash once again this weekend in another pivotal Der Klassiker fixture at the Allianz Arena on Sunday. The rivalry between the two clubs has been fierce over the past few years – filled with goals, and controversies on many occasions.

To date, both the clubs have faced each other 31 times and Bayern has recorded 15 wins so far while Dortmund has added 11 to their name. But on Sunday’s match, the clubs’ past records and history will be put aside as all the football fans over the world are excited to witness the top two German clubs battle out against each other on the same pitch. Excitement is almost always guaranteed in this fixture.

This fixture could prove to have a huge impact on where the Bundesliga title ends up at the end of the season. Thomas Tuchel and his men will have a point to prove in this fixture as this is the first time the team in yellow will be facing the Bavarians without their former manager Jurgen Klopp standing in the technical area.

Dortmund are currently sitting second in the league, trailing the league leaders Bayern by 4 points and both clubs are yet to be beaten this season.

Throughout history, there have been some massive editions of Der Klassiker and some incredible moments. Who remembers Thomas Muller’s screamer which ended up in the top corner during the Bundesliga 2009/10 season? Arjen Robben’s blunder from the spot after he earned a cheeky penalty from the ref. And Mario Gotze’s first goal against his former club with an outside-of-the-boot curler from the edge of the box back in 2013? I’m sure Gotze must have been delighted with the goal, but the player refused to celebrate the goal as he paid respect to his former club and their supporters.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash we take a look at the top 10 moments from this clash packed full of history.
