Video: Manchester United fan Usain Bolt forced to wear an Arsenal shirt after losing bet

Usain Bolt is a well known Manchester United supporter

The fastest man on the planet had more woe piled on him after Arsenal’s 3-0 victory Manchester United at the Emirates on Sunday. A quick brace from Alexis Sanchez and a goal from Mesut Ozil secured a lightning-fast victory for the Gunners who were already in cruise control within 20 minutes.

Usain Bolt was so confident that his beloved United would secure a victory over their rivals on the weekend that he placed a bet with TV host Patricia Lopez de la Cerda a popular Arsenal fan. Unfortunately for the Jamaican Olympic runner, the 20 time English champions let him down and as if things couldn’t get worse for the Red Devils supporters, Bolt paid the prize for losing the bet. The 29-year-old was forced to wear a special version of Arsenal’s home kit.

The Jamaican sprinter wore his name on the back of his shirt, along with the record time of 9.58 seconds that has him the fastest man in the world. And to top the icing on the cake, Bolt was obliged to record a message, which he posted on his Instagram.

Remember there was this one time when he urged Louis van Gaal to give him a chance on trial at Old Trafford? Perhaps, the presence of Bolt would have been appreciated by Bastian Schweinsteiger and Michael Carrick, who had a torrid afternoon in midfield.

Ironically, in 2012, Bolt was shown displaying a similar Manchester United shirt at Old Trafford with his world record 100 metres dash time plastered at the back of the jersey.

Bolt is sponsored by Puma, coincidently the manufacture of Arsenal’s kits are also sponsored by the same company. We can at least hope that he did not have to pay for the ‘priviledge’.
