Video: Watch the best goals of the 2015/16 Premier League season
The Premier League is considered the most ‘thrilling’ league in the world, and the world’s most televised league witnessed a stunning array of goals scored throughout the season. The Premier League shortlisted 12 goals from the 1026 goals that were scored over the course of a thrilling season, and posted the video on Facebook, asking for comments to vote for the best goal of the season.
These were the list of 12 goals selected, appearing in chronological order:

2 Christian Benteke (Liverpool) – vs Manchester United, 12th September 2015
3 Matt Ritchie (AFC Bournemouth) – vs Sunderland, 19th September 2015
4 Jeremain Lens (Sunderland) – vs West Ham United, 3rd October 2015
5 Adam Smith (AFC Bournemouth) – vs Everton, 28th November 2015
6 Cuco Martina (Southampton) – vs Arsenal, 26th December 2015
7 Carles Gil (Aston Villa) – vs Sunderland, 2nd January 2016
8 Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur) – vs Crystal Palace, 23rd January 2016
9 Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) – vs Liverpool, 2nd February 2016
10 Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) – vs Arsenal, 5th March 2016
11 Dimitri Payet (West Ham United) – vs Crystal Palace, 2nd April 2016
12 Eden Hazard (Chelsea) – vs Liverpool, 11th May 2016
A few quirks to note from the list is that 25% of the goals selected happened in the week of 12th to 19th September, with Matic, Benteke and Ritchie getting the Premier League off to a stunning start.
Everton, Sunderland, Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Liverpool were the teams that suffered the most against some stunning strikes, appearing twice in the list of teams that conceded the best goals in the 2015/16 Premier League season.
Conversely, Chelsea, Tottenham and surprisingly, AFC Bournemouth had two entrants each in the list, proving that while the results might not be the best, there is always scope for football to provide enjoyment.
Judging from the Facebook comments, the front-runners so far are Dele Alli’s stunning swivel and volley against Crystal Palace, not much of a surprise since the Spurs youngster also won the ‘BBC Match of the Day Goal of the Season’ award for the 2015/16 Premier League season as well.
Jamie Vardy’s incredible first-time volley from range against Liverpool has plenty of admirers as well, with Leicester’s stunning Premier League title win perfectly epitomised in that goal. Whatever the result, the 2015/16 Premier League season will go down in history as one of the most thrilling and entertaining seasons till date, certainly exemplified by the goals.
