Video: Watching Eden Hazard's nutmeg Southampton players is a good way to start your day
Chelsea might have been dissatisfied with their result against Southampton on Sunday, because a 1-1 draw is definitely not the result Jose Mourinho and his men were looking out for. However, it didn’t stop their talisman Eden Hazard from playing out his full game.
When I say full, I mean an all-round game, replete with nutmegs and stuff. The Belgian was successful in nutmegging two Southampton players during the match, and with far too much ease.
Sam Wallace gets it.
And it is not like Hazard doesn't acknowledge that he is good; he knows just how brilliant he is. With 133 successful dribbles, he is the leader of the charts with Karim Bellarabi (131) of Bayer Leverkusen and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi (127) following him in the second and third spots respectively.
Hazard’s ability to keep the ball and play around with it as he dribbles with his blistering pace makes him not only one of Europe’s hottest prospects but also one of the best out there. If he just works a little on his finishing, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him contest Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi for the Ballon d’Or soon.
