Video: Zimbabwe club try to replicate Messi-Suarez penalty

FC Dynamos tried the Messi-Suarez penalty

The Messi-Suarez penalty was one of its kind and only the second time it was done successfully among the most popular attempts in Football. Pires and Henry had a go at it but failed for Arsenal in 2002. Before that Cruyff and Olsen did t successfully in their time.

And now the two-man penalty seems to have become a thing with many attempting to replicate that success. The most recent one coming from Zimbabwe. A club by the name Dynamos FC tried it against WhaWha FC during the dying minutes of the game.

Roderick Mutuma laid the ball off to Valentine Ndaba to score but sadly didn’t produce the same result as Barcelona’s effort. The Barca penalty caused debate around the world. Some praised the genius of the two while others said it was disrespectful to Celta Vigo.

There is also some doubt over the legality of the goal. Stills from the video replay showed that Suarez was inside the D-Area before the penalty was taken. Official rules of game state that a player is not allowed to venture into the penalty area before the penalty is taken. But nonetheless the penalty stood and as a result, has gone viral across the globe.

In this latest attempt by players to replicate the two-man penalty the Dynamos were leading 4-0 against their opposition as they won a foul in the area. But defences in all clubs have been vary of the routine ever since it happened against Vigo and tightly mark players on the edge of the area.
