Video: 'Zlatan: The movie' could soon be a reality
Ahead of Sweden’s preparation for Euro 2016 qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Moldova, the Swedish media were lucky to have caught up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Tuesday. One of the journalists took the opportunity to reference the recent Wayne Rooney documentary on the BBC and the trailer for Cristiano Ronaldo’s new movie, hoping that the great Zlatan would also consider taking over the big screen soon.
Football players are becoming a popular subject for filmmakers these days. It would seem only natural that Sweden’s own all-time top scorer and all-around football icon, Ibrahimovic, would get his own film, too. After a successful interview with the 34-year-old, he may be coming to a cinema near you very soon.
According to a report from Swedish news source Aftonbladet, Ibrahimovic has revealed that there have been discussions over a potential film about him in the near future.
“We're negotiating. We'll see.” he told reporters.
“It would have been fun if we could put something out.”
“It's not just to say 'I want' and someone says 'we can do it',”
With a broad smile on his face, the PSG striker revealed that he’s in discussions about ‘Zlatan, The Movie’. It hasn’t been confirmed whether it would take the form of a documentary or Hollywood production. Nonetheless, it has got everyone excited.
It’s still as Zlatan said not a confirmed fact, but the very thought of a movie about the talismanic Swede is enough to excite football fans around the world. It will likely be a compelling story of the boy from Malmo who rose to fame and there will surely be no shortage of anecdotes about the big man.
Let's make sure that the director keeps one thing in mind: ‘Zlatan doesn’t do auditions’.
