Wayne Rooney reveals extent of injury, slams critics for questioning commitment
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney revealed the extent of his injury, sustained in an accidental clash with Phil Jones, that ruled him out of action for England’s World Cup qualifier matches against Moldova and Ukraine this week.
However, Rooney was seen being photographed on a family outing at Apple Jacks adventure park in Warrington. Few Cynics, assuming that the 27-year-old might have given it as a reason to intentionally skip playing for his nation, raised questions about his commitment to the England football team.
Posting the photograph of his gashed forehead on his official facebook page, Rooney wrote: “Some people seem to be questioning my commitment to the England squad and the fact I had to pull out of the 2 games. There’s nothing I would like more than to be helping the lads in the qualifiers. I’m sure people will see from these images the reason why I won’t be able to play.”
