West Ham Transfer Rumours: Chinese Super League clubs set to offer Andy Carroll £300,000 per week in order to lure him to China
After having come to the forefront with his performances for Newcastle United, nothing has gone right for the big burly Andy Carroll as the striker has struggled with injuries and the weight of hefty transfer fees being forked out for him.
However, that has not deterred various clubs from seeking to pry him away from his current employers West Ham and if reports from The Sunday Express are to be believed, at least 2 Chinese Clubs are willing to pay West Ham a princely sum of £20 million and make Carroll one of the richest footballers in the world by offering him weekly wages of £300,000 in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Beijing Guoan and Guangzhou R&F, the two clubs mentioned in the report, are willing to break the bank to bring the striker to the Chinese Super League in January. Chinese footballing authorities have been stepping up their efforts to make the national league one of the coveted destinations for footballers across the world and have made some high profile transfers in the recent time with the likes of Graziano Pelle, Ramires, Ezequiel Lavezzi and most recently Andre Vilas-Boas adding to the League’s quality content.
Given their efforts to bring top class players to the league, it would not surprise us should they manage to acquire the services of the former Newcastle man in the upcoming transfer window.

Andy Carroll’s West Ham tenure has been plagued by numerous injuries. However, whenever he is fit and raring to go, Carroll has proven to be a quality addition to the side with his presence in and around the box. Described as the “best in the world at heading a football” by his current manager Slaven Bilic, the player possesses the ability to demonize the opposition defenders in the air and has proven to be an effective ally for his teammates.
Despite being injured for a large part of his career, Carroll has actually been amongst the top 3 goalscorers at the club, save for one season, since making the move from Liverpool. While some might claim it to be West Ham’s lack of quality, it is actually Carroll’s abilities in front of the goal that has yielded him a good result in terms of goals to game ratio.
The player was subject to an attempted robbery in the last week and that might force the Englishman to rethink about his career. While it remains to be seen if he could actually be willing to move away from England, his apparent dilemma has presented the Chinese Club with the best opportunity to bring him to the Chinese shores and could mean a big coup for them, should they manage to get his signature on the dotted lines.
