Transfer Rumours: West Ham United to sign Swansea's Andre Ayew for £20m
According to reports, West Ham United have reached an agreement with Swansea to purchase winger Andre Ayew. The deal is reported to be in the region of £20m. Ayew is expected to have a medical by the end of the week. Swansea, though, will only allow the player to leave providing they find a striking replacement for the Ghanaian.

Ayew signed for the Swans in 2015 for free from Marseille and was drafted into the first team immediately. Ayew was named the Premier League Player of the Month in August after scoring 3 goals in 4 appearances. With 12 goals in 35 appearances for the club, the Ghanaian was one of Swansea’s better players in the Premier League last season. Swansea, though, are keen on revamping their squad and after offloading Bafetimbi Gomis to Marseille last month, Ayew who is contracted at Swansea till 2019 has been told he can leave the club.
Ayew has also been reasonably successful at the international level, scoring 11 goals in 66 games for his country including one in a 2-2 draw against Germany in the 2014 World Cup.
Ayew, with plenty of Champions League experience to his name, plays mainly as a left winger but also has the ability to play up front, off the main striker. A technically correct player, Ayew could be a shrewd signing for the Hammers. With Slaven Bilic planning to offload unsettled striker Diafra Sakho, Ayew could play a major role in their quest for a top 5 finish.
Swansea have already roped in Spaniard Fernando Llorente and with the football club in talks with Atletico striker Baston, Ayew is expected to be a West Ham player soon.
West Ham begin their Premier League campaign against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on the 15th of August while Swansea travel to Burnley on 13th.
